Creating an App using the API

In addition to creating a Droplet from the Zulip 1-Click App using the control panel, you can also use the DigitalOcean API. As an example, to create a 4GB Zulip Droplet in the SFO2 region, you can use the following curl command. You need to either save your API access token) to an environment variable or substitute it in the command below.

Getting Started After Deploying Zulip

You must choose a Digital Ocean plan with at least 2GB of RAM when creating your Droplet.

After creating your Droplet:

  1. Create a DNS record for a hostname pointing to your new Droplet_IP
  2. Login to your new Droplet via SSH and follow the short configuration script.That’s it!
